Rosstat has published data on the gross regional product (GRP) of the subjects of the Russian Federation for 2021

The GRP of the Orenburg Region by the end of 2021 amounted to 1.39 trillion. rubles. Compared to 2020, in 2021, GRP increased by 347.55 billion rubles, or 33.2%. The gross regional product per capita amounted to 721 thousand rubles (in 2020 – 536.8 thousand rubles).
In terms of GRP per capita among the regions of Russia, the Orenburg Region took 24th place, among the subjects of the Volga Federal District – 2nd place after the Republic of Tatarstan (in 2020 – 28th and 2nd place, respectively).
Over the past 10 years, the GRP of the Orenburg region has grown 2.5 times.
The national goal approved by the President of Russia is to ensure the growth rate of the country's gross domestic product above the global average while maintaining macroeconomic stability at a level of at least 3.0% per year.
Therefore, the regional Government faces an ambitious task to increase the accelerated pace of GRP. The factors of GRP growth will be an increase in industrial production and products of the agro-industrial complex, attracting investments into the economy of the region through the special economic zone "Orenburzhie" and the territories of advanced socio-economic development, the development of small and medium-sized businesses, the creation of new production facilities, modernization of existing capacities of enterprises, import substitution.
