The largest salt producer in the Russian Federation has increased export by 32%
For nine months from the beginning of 2020, the Russol company has increased the export of table salt by a third compared to the same period last year. The main export destinations are the CIS countries, Mongolia and China.
As the press service of the company said on Tuesday, from January to September 2019, 25.5 thousand tons were exported, and in 2020 this figure increased to 33754 tons.
At the same time, most of the salt abroad comes from the Orenburg region. So, from January to September from the Sol-Iletsk deposit to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, 26,626 tons of high grade edible salt were sent. This is 27.5 percent more than a year ago.
Deliveries of Extra class salt from the Usolskoye field also doubled - 4.77 thousand tons were exported to Mongolia, China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan this year. In the Astrakhan region, 2,410 tons of first-grade edible salt were shipped to the CIS countries for nine months.
Recall that on October 15, the government of the Orenburg region discussed the growth of the region's mutual trade with China. According to the governor of the Orenburg region, Denis Pasler, the volume of table salt supplies to China in the first half of 2020 increased 2.5 times.
The company stressed that the increase in product exports does not affect the supply of salt to the Russian Federation. The enterprise remains the leading company in the import substitution program in the country. Earlier, by a decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, from November 1, 2016, salt was included in the list of products prohibited from import into Russia from countries that have imposed sanctions against the Russian Federation.
“We are able to completely replace the entire volume of imports that came to Russia, and additionally ensure the supply of salt abroad, successfully developing the export potential of the company,” said Sergei Cherny, director of Russoli.

Russol is the largest salt producer in Russia, combining three deposits in the country: Iletskoye, Baskunchakskoye and Usolye-Sibirskoye. The main areas of activity are extraction, production, sale of food and technical salt.
